Service Description: This map service is part of the effort to implement the John D. Dingell, Jr. Conservation, Management and Recreation Act. This map service allows the public to view newly-nominated parcels during the Dingell Act public comment period. The purpose of the Dingell Act public comment periods is to solicit the assistance of the public in identifying BLM lands in need of access improvement that meet the following criteria: 1) BLM-managed parcels 640 acres or larger; 2) parcels must be currently open to hunting, fishing, or other recreational purposes (i.e., no restrictive designations); and 3) parcels must have no existing legal public access or existing public access that is significantly restricted. The public nomination period will be open for 30 days.
